Why We Love Camping in the Fall

October 12, 2016

Summer has now faded into Fall bringing with it many reasons to enjoy the changing of seasons by going camping. With the beginning of the school year in session, families can enjoy Fall weekends, and kids love the Autumn outdoors. Before the winter sets in, make plans and enjoy one last chance to spend a weekend camping. There is plenty of fun to be had outdoors in the next few weeks. We encourage everyone to take advantage of the cool weather - and for all of us here at Trail Kitchens, it is so good for the body and soul!

1. AMAZING SCENERY

Enjoy Autumn Scenery Camping in NatureThe changing of the season means that the leaves have begun the transition from green, to yellow, to orange, to deep red. Some of the best fishing, biking, rafting, hiking, overland off road and 4x4 camping trips happen in the Autumn. Fall is hands down the most beautiful time of year. It is a perfect time of year to pack up your gear and enjoy natures incredible landscapes!

2. COOL WEATHER

Cool Weather Fall CampingNot too hot, not too cold, just right. There is something so refreshing about stepping outside and taking a deep breath when the air is cool and sharp. There are less bugs and creepy crawlies, which means no mosquitoes biting and no more flies and bees buzzing around the food. You also get to kick leaves and they make a satisfying noise when you walk.

3. FEWER CAMPERS

Few Campers during the Fall SeasonCamp sites are far less crowded (and less noisy) - especially during the week. During the summer campgrounds can be crowded and so full of people that there is not enough room to walk. In the Fall most trails are quiet and perfect for hiking. The weather is ideal for catching incredible sunsets and even butterflies! Indeed, all it takes to enjoy this Fall season is to step out into nature and find a great spot to camp.

4. AUTUMN THEMED ACTIVITIES

Autumn Themed Camping ActivitiesEach year the transition to the Autumn season tends to bring some of the best overland and expedition off-roading, 4x4 adventures, hiking, biking, fishing and rafting as well as fun events for the kids like scavenger hunts, corn mazes, pumpkin carving or even a friendly game of football for the entire family. Fall is the perfect time of year for enjoying outdoor activities with family and friends throughout your camping trip.

5. SHOW OFF YOUR INNER CHEF

Space Saving Camp Kitchen EquipmentFrom campsite staples like hot dogs, hamburgers and s'mores to great alternatives like apple cobbler, beer pancakes, or campfire nachos. It's common knowledge that camp-side meals are the some of the most delicious meals. Preparing your shopping list and bringing your A-Game is only half the battle. The right camp kitchen gear is essential to a successful outdoor experience. Trail Kitchens has a complete selection of space saving camp kitchen equipment and outdoor kitchen workstations to improve your outdoor kitchen experience!
